2016 August August-May Continuous W-APT Screener for ELL status W-APT stands for the WIDA-ACCESS Placement Test. It is an English language proficiency "screener" test given to incoming students who may be designated as English language learners. It assists educators with programmatic placement decisions such as identification and placement of ELLs. The W-APT is one component of WIDA's comprehensive assessment system. These assessments do not reflect on your child's grades. However, the results of these tests will be sent home upon completion of the testing window.
2016 August August 22 - September 8 PreK - 8 STAR Screening 1 STAR Early Literacy assessment is a computer based test that measures your child's proficiency in up to nine areas that are important in reading development. STAR Reading is a computer-adaptive reading test that summarizes your child's reading ability.
STAR Math is a computer adaptive assessment that gauges student proficiency in mathematics.
These assessments do not reflect on your child's grades. However, the results of these tests will be sent home upon completion of the testing window.
2016 September September 1 - 19 K-8 and 9-12 as applicable EasyCBM Screening EasyCBM is a screening tool utilized for students who score below the 25th percentile on the STAR assessments to help determine which interventions will be used to assist the student and monitor progress. Your student's school Response To Intervention Coordinator will send the results of this assessment home upon completion of the testing window. Results from this assessment will not reflect in their grade marks.
2016 September September 19-23 Grade 3 Grade 2 Field Test This one-time assessment is administered to third grade students in 2016-2017 based on content standards they learned the prior year. The purpose of this assessment is to serve as a field test for the new Questar 2nd Grade Assessment. Results of this one-time assessment will not be included nor reflected on your student's grade card.
2016 October October 6 - 7 Grades 9-12 Mid-Terms These assessments provide a mid-term snapshot on how students are progressing in full term courses. Results from these tests will be averaged into your student's overall grade and reflect on their grade card.
2016 November November 28-December 2 Grades 9-12 EOC Courses Fall Block EOC Subpart 1 ELA and U.S. History The Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) is the summative test measuring knowledge and skills in designated content areas. This portion (subpart 1) of the assessment includes the writing response section of the TCAP assessment. Results from this test will be included in the TCAP portion of the student's overall grade on their report card. Parents will receive a collective TCAP report that includes the results from each part of the assessment.

2016 December December 5-16 Grades 9-12 EOC Courses Fall Block EOC Remaining Subparts for all Fall Block EOC Classes The End of Course category of the state's overall TCAP system, provides information regarding the knowledge and skills related to English language arts, math, science and social studies high school courses. Also known as TNReady assessments, these tests are designed to assess true student understanding and not just basic memorization and test-taking skills. Results from this test will be included in the TCAP portion of the student's overall grade on their report card. Parents will receive a collective TCAP report that includes the results from each part of the assessment.
2016 December December 14-15 High Schools 1st Semester Finals This assessment covers end of the semester courses that are not covered by State mandated End of Course examinations. Results from these tests will be averaged into your student's overall grade and reflect on their grade card.
2017 February February 7-8 February 7 for North 8th graders; February 8 for Pine View 4th graders NAEP The National Assessment of Educational Progress, or NAEP, is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what America's students know and can do in various subject areas.
Assessments are conducted periodically in mathematics, reading, science, writing, the arts, civics, economics, geography, U.S. history.
Individual student results are not reported to families or districts. Scores are only reported to the Tennessee Department of Education.
2017 March March 6 - April 21 ELL students ACCESS for ELLS ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 is a secure large-scale English language proficiency assessment administered to Kindergarten through 12th grade students who have been identified as English language learners (ELLs). It is given annually in WIDA Consortium member states to monitor students' progress in acquiring academic English. These assessments do not reflect on your child's grades. However, the results of these tests will be sent home when results are received from WIDA.
2017 March - May March 6 - May 12 Grades 3-11 MSAA The Multi-State Alternative Assessment (MSAA) applies the lessons learned from the past decade of research on alternate assessments based on alternate achievement standards (AA-AAS) to develop a multi-state comprehensive assessment system for students with significant cognitive disabilities. The project draws on a strong research base to develop an AA-AAS that is built from the ground up on powerful validity arguments linked to clear learning outcomes and defensible assessment results. Results from this assessment will be reported to parents in the fall grade cards.

2017 April April 19 All 11th Grade Students ACT (Make-up May 3) This assessment gives educators, students, and families early insight into a student's level of preparedness for college and career by high school graduation. These assessments do not reflect on your child's grades. However, the results of these tests will be sent home upon completion of the testing window.
2017 April April 24 - May 5 Grades 3-8 and Grades 9-12 EOC Courses Spring Block and Year Long Courses Offered in the Skinny Block TCAP Remaining Subparts This section of the state's overall TCAP system, provides information regarding the knowledge and skills related to English language arts, math, science and social studies. 2017 April April 25 - May 5 Grade 2 Questar 2nd Grade Assessment This new, criterion-referenced assessment is designed to measure 2nd graders' progress in the knowledge and skills outlined in the Tennessee State Standards. This assessment does not reflect on your child's report card. However, the results of this test will be sent home as soon as it becomes available.
2017 May May 1-12 Grades 9-12 AP Exams AP Exams are assessments that measure student comprehension of Advanced Placement material. Results from these tests will be averaged into your student's overall grade and reflect on their grade card.
2017 May May 15 - 17 CCHS May 15-16 SMHS May 16-17 Phoenix May 15-16 Finals (Seniors)
This assessment covers end of the semester courses that are not covered by State mandated End of Course examinations. This assessment covers end of the semester courses that are not covered by State mandated End of Course examinations.
Results from these tests will be averaged into your student's overall grade and reflect on their grade card.
